Memory must be installed in pairs. Apple recommends four or eight identical DIMMs for best performance. Kingston offers memory in kits of two identical DIMMs.
Base memory 2GB (2x1GB) are installed as follows: 1GB on Memory Riser A (top card) and 1GB on Memory Riser B (bottom card). When upgrading move 1GB from Riser B bottom card to DIMM slot 2 on Riser A top card. Install the first pair of additional DIMMs on the bottom card in DIMM slots 1 and 2. The second pair of additional DIMMs install in top card DIMM slots 3 and 4. Install third pair of additional DIMMs in bottom card DIMM slots 3 and 4.
